Washington Commanders
Odds

Next game odds, playoff outlook, schedule and Super Bowl history.

Washington is betting on a healthy Jayden Daniels to erase a lost season. The Commanders went 5-12 in 2025, a sharp fall from the NFC Championship run the year before, with injuries to Daniels at the center of it. He is healthy again, and the franchise has rebuilt the coaching staff around him.

Dan Quinn returns for a third year with two first-time coordinators. The offense is being reshaped to put Daniels under center more often, and the receiver room is thin. The talent is real, but the market wants to see the bounce-back before believing it.

Lucky Rebel’s Editor Top Pick

Jayden Daniels is the whole thing. As a rookie in 2024 he took the league by storm and carried Washington to the conference title game. A 2025 derailed by injury does not erase that. He is healthy, he has a new scheme built to his strengths, and Terry McLaurin is still his top target. The bet is that a healthy Daniels drags this team back toward contention.

Commanders to make the playoffs

MarketYesNo
Washington Commanders to make the playoffs+210-290

Our call: they miss it. At +210 to make the playoffs and -290 to miss, the market is skeptical after the 5-12 collapse. The receiver room is thin behind Terry McLaurin, both coordinators are first-time play-callers, and the team is installing a new offense. A healthy Daniels raises the floor considerably, but the supporting cast and the unproven staff point toward a year on the outside looking in.

Dan Quinn in year three

Quinn took Washington from 4-13 to 12-5 and an NFC Championship appearance in his first season, then watched a 2025 injury wave drop the team to 5-12. He returns with general manager Adam Peters and a heavily revamped staff, betting that health and a new scheme reset the trajectory.

The 2024 ceiling is the reminder of what this roster can be with Daniels upright. Quinn’s job is to get back there, which starts with protecting his quarterback and rebuilding the offense around him.

David Blough, Daronte Jones and two new coordinators

David Blough, promoted from assistant quarterbacks coach, is the new offensive coordinator and a first-time play-caller. He replaces Kliff Kingsbury, who left for the Rams, and plans to put Daniels under center more with a heavier play-action approach.

Daronte Jones takes over the defense after years as a defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator in Minnesota, replacing the fired Joe Whitt Jr. Two first-time coordinators is a gamble, and Quinn is staking the season on both growing into the jobs quickly.

The Commanders playing staff

Jayden Daniels is the engine, and a healthy version of him is the difference between this roster and the one that won twelve games in 2024. Terry McLaurin remains a legitimate number one receiver and the focal point of the passing game.

The concern is the lack of proven help around McLaurin, with no marquee additions at receiver. The defense is rebuilding under a new coordinator after a rough season. If Daniels stays healthy the Commanders are dangerous, but the cast around him has to hold up.
