Denver Broncos
Odds

Next game odds, playoff outlook, schedule and Super Bowl history.

Denver is the reigning AFC West champion, and the engine is the defense. The Broncos went 14-3 in 2025, set a franchise record with 68 sacks, and reached the AFC Championship Game before a 10-7 loss at home to New England. The pieces that built that are back. So is the head coach, on a new deal through 2030.

Sean Payton has Denver pointed at the top of the conference. The pass rush is elite, the secondary is led by one of the best corners in football, and the quarterback is entering year three on the rise. This is a contender that controls its own division.

Lucky Rebel’s Editor Top Pick

The defense is the foundation. Denver has topped 60 sacks in back-to-back seasons, the third team in NFL history to do it, and Pat Surtain II anchors a secondary that travels. Bo Nix is the rising piece on top, the third quarterback ever to win 10-plus games and make the playoffs in each of his first two seasons. Floor from the defense, ceiling from the kid. That is a dangerous combination.

Broncos to make the playoffs

Denver Broncos to make the playoffs-150+115

Our call: they make it. At -150 to make the playoffs, the market has Denver as a clear postseason team, and the AFC West crown is theirs to defend. The Broncos won 14 games and reached an AFC Championship a year ago with a defense among the league’s best and an ascending quarterback. The schedule is brutal early, with five 2025 playoff teams in the first six weeks, but the talent says January is the expectation, not the hope.

Sean Payton, signed long term

Payton signed a new five-year contract through 2030 this offseason, locking in the architect of Denver’s turnaround. He inherited a quarterback question and answered it with Bo Nix. Now he runs a 14-win program with stability at the top, a rarity in a division where three of four teams have changed head coaches recently.

The mandate has shifted from rebuild to contend. Denver is not hoping to sneak in. It is defending a division title and chasing a deep run, and the roster is built to back that up.

Davis Webb, Vance Joseph and the staff

Davis Webb takes over as offensive coordinator, promoted from within after Joe Lombardi was let go. Webb gets the call sheet, but the offense stays rooted in Payton’s system, which is the point. Nix keeps his scheme and his language heading into a pivotal third year.

Vance Joseph returns for a fourth season as defensive coordinator, and his unit is the team’s calling card. Denver set franchise sack records in 2024 and 2025, and Joseph drew head-coaching interest he ultimately passed over. Keeping him intact matters more than any new hire.

The Broncos playing staff

Pat Surtain II is the centerpiece of the defense, a shutdown corner fronted by a relentless pass rush led by Nik Bonitto. This is a unit that wins games on its own. Denver added receiver Jaylen Waddle this offseason to give Nix more to work with outside.

On offense, the line has been a strength under Payton, allowing among the fewest sacks in football, and Nix has the protection and the weapons to take a step. The roster is a genuine contender’s roster, top to bottom.
