Carolina Panthers
Odds
Next game odds, playoff outlook, schedule and Super Bowl history.
Carolina took a real step in 2025. The Panthers went 8-9, won a weak NFC South, and pushed the Rams to the wire in a 34-31 Wild Card loss. For a franchise without a winning record since 2017, that was progress, built on the development of Bryce Young.
Young enters a pivotal fourth year with a new top target in Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan and Brad Idzik now calling the plays. The schedule is brutal and the division title will be hard to defend, but the arrow is pointing up.
Lucky Rebel’s Editor Top Pick
Bryce Young is the whole thing. Year four is the evaluation that decides his future, and he gave Carolina real reasons for optimism in 2025 with over 3,000 yards and 23 touchdowns. Now he has Tetairoa McMillan, the Offensive Rookie of the Year, as his number one target, and Dave Canales has handed play-calling to Brad Idzik so he can manage the whole team. If Young keeps climbing, the Panthers are a problem.

| Carolina Panthers to make the playoffs | +210 | -290 |
Our call: they miss it. At +210 to make the playoffs and -290 to miss, the market is not buying a repeat of the division title, and the schedule explains why. Carolina faces one of the toughest slates of opposing defenses in the league, and an 8-9 team that snuck into the playoffs has to prove the breakout was real. Young’s development gives them a chance, but the path back to January is steep. The doubt is fair.
Dave Canales in year three
Canales has Carolina trending up, adding three wins in his first year and a division title in his second. General manager Dan Morgan has built around Bryce Young, and the staff is running it back after a surprising 2025, betting that continuity keeps the progress going.
The new wrinkle is that Canales is handing play-calling to his coordinator to focus on running the team. That is a sign of confidence in the offense he has built, and a bet that he can add more value managing all three phases.
Brad Idzik, Ejiro Evero and the staff
Brad Idzik takes over offensive play-calling in 2026, with Canales stepping back. The Panthers also added veteran Darrell Bevell as an offensive specialist to support Young’s development, a clear investment in the quarterback’s growth.
Ejiro Evero returns as defensive coordinator, the continuity on a unit that has been rebuilt after finishing among the league’s worst against the run. Carolina added pieces like Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd to a young defense that needs to keep improving.
The Panthers playing staff
Bryce Young is the centerpiece, coming off the most encouraging stretch of his career and now armed with Tetairoa McMillan, the Offensive Rookie of the Year, on the outside. Chuba Hubbard anchors the backfield. The offense has young pieces to grow with.
The defense, led up front by Derrick Brown, has to hold up against a difficult schedule. Carolina is a young team on the rise, but defending a division title with this slate is a tall order. Young’s continued development is the swing factor.
