Buffalo Bills
Odds

Next game odds, playoff outlook, schedule and Super Bowl history.

Buffalo changed its head coach this year. It changed almost nothing else. When McDermott went, the Bills promoted from within instead of chasing an outside name. Joe Brady already ran this offense. The processes, the calls, the plays, the psychology in the room, all of it stays the same. The playing staff is not learning a new world.

Good ownership knows what that is worth. A lot of ownership does not. Bring in a stranger and you reset the scheme, the language, and the trust all at once. The Pegulas went the other way. For a playing staff, continuity is king. And the one constant that outranks even that is the quarterback.

Lucky Rebel’s Editor Top Pick

Josh Allen is the whole thing. Number 17, drafted seventh overall in 2018, MVP for the 2024 season, and still the reason every Bills market moves the way it does. While he is upright, this team has a puncher’s chance against anyone. The flip side is just as plain. The season lives and dies with his health.

Bills to make the playoffs

Buffalo Bills to make the playoffs-330+235

Our call: they make it. Six straight trips to the playoffs is not an accident, and the roster that produced an MVP season from Allen in 2024 is largely intact. The catch is the division. New England are the reigning AFC champions now, so the AFC East is not the easy ride it used to be. A wild card looks like the floor. The division title is the fight.

Bills coaching stability

The Pegulas are patient by NFL standards. Terry Pegula bought the team in 2014 and gave McDermott nine seasons, one of the longest leashes in the league. Only Andy Reid in Kansas City had a longer active run with one team.

Then the patience ran out. After another divisional round exit, McDermott was fired in January 2026. The message was blunt. Regular season wins are no longer the bar. The owner wanted the wall knocked down, so he changed the man tasked with knocking it down. For a franchise that had prized continuity, that is a real shift in how the building operates.

Joe Brady and his backroom coaching staff

Joe Brady got the job. Promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach in January 2026 on a five-year deal, he is the youngest active head coach in the NFL at 36. He had run the Bills offense for two and a half seasons and helped Allen win MVP for 2024. The players already knew him. That was the point of the hire.

Pete Carmichael Jr. steps in as offensive coordinator. Jim Leonhard takes the defense as coordinator and play-caller, bringing a multiple-front scheme that will look nothing like the McDermott defenses of the last nine years. New voices, same locker room.

The Bills playing staff

Behind Allen, the 2026 draft leaned defense, which fits Leonhard’s reset. Buffalo traded out of the first round and opened with outside linebacker TJ Parker at pick 35, then traded up for Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun. Help for the pass rush and the secondary, the exact spots a new coordinator needs his own kind of player. The offense around Allen got its attention in the middle rounds, including receiver Skyler Bell.
